Over the past five weeks of Advent, our book study journeyed through the text of Building the Earth by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.

It was deeply moving to be able to sit with you during this time. I am grateful and humbled by your insights and the transparency of your sharing.

From our collective investigation, the text seems to have been “edited” by piecing together elements of different essays that Teilhard had written between 1931 and 1941. Religious sisters undertook the task of translating and editing the texts, most likely with the intent of appealing to a wider audience than would normally have been reached with the density of Teilhard’s original material.

As we continue through the season of winter and look toward the spring, I am planning on offering another book study, perhaps during the season of Lent. Ash Wednesday is early this year, on Feb. 14, so I will send out a notice with details within the next couple weeks.

Please stay in touch by connecting with me on social media. We can connect via InstagramX (Twitter) or via my website. Details on upcoming programs, events, and retreats will be posted soon..

Please stay connected with the American Teilhard Association, and if you are so moved, consider becoming a member. We are working hard to expand our offerings, including the possibility of in-person and hybrid gatherings in the future. If you wish to make a donation to the ATA, we are grateful for your support. Your gift makes programs like this book study possible.

Stay connected on FacebookInstagram, and YouTube.

May your 2024 be filled with peace and openness to all of the ways that we can live out the teachings found within Teilhard’s words.
